What is your role at St Andrew’s Church and what is it you do?

Choir Director of Music and Organist, and Editor of the Shifnal Parish Magazine – I am what it says on the tin!

What is the most satisfying part about your involvement at St. Andrew’s?

Enabling musical and personal development, and encouraging respect for others through music. Discovering and spreading the word about all the wonderful people and activities in our churches and locality.

Best memory from your time here?

Too many to mention! They include the weddings of former choristers, seeing families’ reaction to their youngsters’ achievements, and so much more.

Is there a particular chapter or verse from the bible which resonates with you more than any other?

I have two: Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 ‘A time for every purpose under heaven’ and Psalm 95: 1 ‘Come let us sing for joy to the Lord’.

What is your biggest passion outside of Church life?

Losing myself in the tranquillity and contentment - in the garden, countryside, coastal or lake footpaths, or engrossed in some culinary creation in my kitchen.

Have you got a hidden skill?

If I have they shall remain so!!

Favourite movie / TV series?

I am not a film buff, nor do I watch much TV, although I do enjoy ‘WILTY’ (Would I lie to you)

Favourite book / author?

The book of the moment – currently by Satnam Sanghera.

Favourite music / musician?

I would suggest the informal setting of Warm Welcome or Open Door, or do browse the website to get the flavour of our services.

For people who have just moved to Shifnal, what’s the best way to get started in coming to Church?

Ditto above, or just give a Sunday morning a try (or if you prefer something less informal look at the Tuesday/Sunday Heartspace). There is something for everyone.
