History
This beautiful and imposing Church of St Andrew dates back to the 12 Century, although people have worshipped on this site for well over a thousand years. As a Centre of Christianity, St Andrew's was originally a Minster Church with a college of Priests serving the area. Among the many architectural and historical features of interest in the Church the main ones are-:
- A double Chancel Arch - Norman and 13th century.
- A 13th century porch with Priest's room above.
- A 14th century Lady Chapel.
- A 19th century floor and wall tiles from Coalbrookdale.
Today St Andrew's Church is a home to a living active and growing fellowship of Christians who meet to worship God, to seek to grow in the Christian Faith and to share that faith with others in witness and service.
