What is your role at St Andrew’s Church and what is it you do?
Families outreach worker. I connect with people and build relationships within the community. I develop stepping stones to ensure midweek outreach is fully integrated into the church’s ministry and mission.
What is the most satisfying part about your involvement at St. Andrew’s?
Identifying opportunities to enable our church’s development and growth, and being part of something so meaningful it goes beyond any words that can describe.
Best memory from your time here?
Being drawn initially by the sound of the church bells ringing only to be greeted at the door by the wonderful Rev Sally and Shirley to entice me into exploring the Alpha course which was taking part that evening - and so my journey of faith began.
Is there a particular chapter or verse from the bible which resonates with you more than any other?
John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; for perfect love cast out fear”.
What is your biggest passion outside of Church life?
My family, they are the backbone in all that I do and all that I am!
Have you got a hidden skill?
I wouldn’t call it a skill but I do love to sing, it brings me great joy.
Favourite movie / TV series?
Call the midwife, I can watch it on repeat over and over.
Favourite book / author?
Anything written by Rosie Goodwin, Anna Stuart but most of all Maureen Lee.
Favourite music / musician?
Hard question as I have a passion for all music whether it be folk, country, rock or classical but I'd say my favourite musician is my son Tyler who is a magician on the guitar.
For people who have just moved to Shifnal, what’s the best way to get started in coming to Church?
Have a look online or on our noticeboards inside the porch to see what groups might suit you, if you need a bit of encouragement drop us an email or give us a call, theres always someone ready and willing to help. I know it can be daunting when doing something or going somewhere for the 1st time but you will only ever be met with warmth and kindness here at St. Andrew’s.
For people who have lived in Shifnal a long time who may have often thought about coming to St. Andrew’s, but either never got around to it or maybe feel a bit daunted in not knowing where to start, what is the best advice to these people?
Find the courage to step through those big hard wooden doors and you will always be greeted with a warm sense of belonging whether that be through Little Fishes, Messy Church, Forget Me Not, Open Door or Everyday Warm Welcome, there really is something for everyone! Knock and the door will be answered Mathew 7:7-8
